In this tutorial you will learn how to use automate.video to add automatic speech to your PowerPoint presentation.
This is very useful when you can't record your own voice, if you want your video to sound professional or if you target foreign countries. Automate.video supports 24 languages.
To add automatic speech, just type your text in the Notes section of your PowerPoint. You can customize the voice gender (if available) by entering the placeholder %%TTS_FEMALE% or %%TTS_MALE% in the Notes section as well.
Then just upload your PowerPoint file to automate.video. Once your file is imported, and after you click on Create Video, you will get a video with a high quality synthesized voice over.
NEW FEATURE: Your text may contain acronyms that the engine may incorrectly synthesize. For example, you may want to synthesize DOT or D.O.T. as the three letters (D, then O, then T) instead of "dot." You can now enter a command in the Notes section of the first slide to replace all those without changing your text.
Use %%TTSFIND% followed by the words you want to find, with quotation marks separated by commas, and end with %%TTSFIND-END%
Then use %%TTSREPLACE% followed by the terms you wish to replace them with (one for each word above), with quotation marks, separated by commas, and end with %%TTSREPLACE-END%
For example: to replace DOT and D.O.T. with D O T, use the following command in the Notes section of the first slide.
%%TTSFIND%"DOT","D.O.T."%%TTSFIND-END%
%%TTSREPLACE%"D O T","D O T"%%TTSREPLACE-END%
To change the rate of the automatic speech, you can change it globally with a code in the Notes section of the first slide:
for example, to lower the rate by 30%, you can set the rate to 0.7 by entering the following code.
%%TTSPROSODYRATE%0.7%%TTSPROSODYRATE-END%
New feature: you can now change the default voice for the automatic speech. Please check out this tutorial to find out how: https://www.automate.video/blog/how-to-change-the-voice-of-your-virtual-presenter
Once you see how easy it is and hear how good those voices are, you may never want to record your own voice again !
